Reading Mentors
Reading powerful stories that touch the hearts and minds of young people is what we do best. Our reading mentors are motivated to teach students about the power of literature; they have years of experience coaching young people in literary analysis, reading comprehension, creative writing, and how to embrace storytelling as a tool to change people’s lives.

Allison
Allison received her Bachelor’s from Johns Hopkins University, where she studied History and Writing Seminars and was the managing editor of a student-run literary magazine. She has tutored students who wanted assistance in their own storytelling projects, and always delighted to work with imaginative young people who want to go deeper into their own writing and are looking for editing or just general advice about writing fiction or poetry.

Karri
Karri graduated from Stanford University with a Master’s degree in English, and also holds another Master’s degree from the University of Kansas in Education and Curriculum Design. She has experience working in the admissions office of Stanford University for two years and has tutored and planned for nearly 1,000 students to enter top US universities or liberal arts colleges. Karri has 15 years of expert experience in leading curriculum design for different topics, such as writing, reading, and critical thinking skills development.

Michelle Jiang
Michelle is an incoming freshman at the University of California, Davis, with a double major in English Literature and Environmental Policy. She graduated from Shanghai High School (International Division) and specializes in English reading, writing, and editing for publication.

Zhenyao Cai
Zhenyao is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of California, Irvine, one of the top ten colleges of education in the United States. She holds an undergraduate degree with a double major in Computer Science and History from a top 15 liberal arts college in the United States and a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Columbia University

Nannan He
Nannan He is currently studying at Teachers College at Columbia University, specializing in Art Education. She received her bachelor's degree from The University of Minnesota in 2021, majoring in Art History. During her graduate study, she spent a whole semester as an art assistant & observer in an art program for K-8 education at The school at Columbia University. Nannan is interested in the cross-disciplinary study of integrated subjects and exploring the intersectionality of disciplines. She respects each student's values and preferences, which can better advise students to choose schools based on their interests.

Yifan Li
Yifan graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science degree in International Teaching and Global Leadership program, and holds an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with a major in econometrics. She understands the needs of domestic and international students.

Julia Feng
Julia is a sophomore undergraduate student at New York University, majoring in Education Foreign Language Teaching. She graduated from YK Pao Experimental High School. She is a hard-working, helpful, and friendly person, and specializes in translation, language teaching, and other areas.

Gigi Xia
Gigi graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where she majored in art and architecture. Gigi is currently working in a real estate development company in the U.S. She has been learning professional drawing since she was 5 years old and is proficient in sketching, coloring, sketching, mural painting, and Chinese painting.

​Candice Kan​
Candice Kan is a graduate of Columbia University's Teachers College and was a teaching assistant in the East Asian Department. She holds three New York State teaching credentials (Childhood Education, Special Education, and Bilingual Education). She is currently working in a New York City elementary school as a multidisciplinary teacher.

Peggy Che
Peggy is a sophomore student at New York University (NYU), majoring in Mathematics and Data Science and minoring in Art History. She is an NYU global peer mentor and study abroad peer assistant. Her future career direction is finance (FinTech/Quant) and data analysis. She can support students with cross-disciplinary interests and advise them on their future career paths; she is very kind and patient in communicating and teaching math to students, always keeping their understanding in mind.

Thunder Lian
Thunder is a sophomore at New York University. He is majoring in Sports Management and minoring in Economics. He graduated from YK Pao Experimental High School. He is an optimistic and positive person, good at organizing and planning, and has a strong interest in sports, fitness and health.

Fangyu Ma
Fangyu is currently a student at the Savannah College of Art (MFA in Illustration) and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the Department of Architecture.

Candice Chen
Candice is currently a graduate student in the Customer Analysis Program at LIM College in New York. She got her undergraduate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in Fashion Design and minoring in Art History and International Trade and Marketing.
